The latest addition to the 97.1 The Ticket team is cemented. Former Detroit Lions offensive lineman T.J. Lang is joining the station and Lions Radio Network as a sideline reporter. Lang joins a broadcast team headlined by play-by-play voice Dan Miller and color analyst Lomas Brown for all of the Lions’ action starting next week when the team battles Buffalo on Aug. 13.

On top of his treks along the edges of the gridiron, Lang is also making frequent appearances on The Morning Show with Stoney and Jansen and The Mike Valenti Show with Rico on Monday and Fridays.

“As Detroit’s No. 1 sports talk station, we are excited to add T.J. to our incredible team,” Audacy Detroit Senior Vice President and Market Manager Debbie Kenyon said in a press release. “As a native Detroiter who played for Eastern Michigan University, T.J has great passion and a strong connection to our great state. His pro football experience will bring incredible insight to the station, especially on game days.”

Lang is a Michigan Man, but he doesn’t bleed maize and blue, having played at Eastern Michigan. He spent ten years in the NFL after being drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2009. Lang tallied eight years on the frozen tundra before wrapping up his last two NFL seasons in the Motor City.

“I consider it an incredible honor to be joining a fantastic group of people at 97.1 The Ticket,” Lang said. “I look forward to working with the legendary Dan Miller and Lions legend Lomas Brown on game days this season, while also contributing to weekly content with shows on 97.1. I am excited to bring a unique perspective about the league each week, while learning as much as I can along the way.”

Fans can tune in to 97.1 The Ticket (WXYT-FM) in Detroit on-air, as well as nationwide on the Audacy app and website.
