Chicago (WLS)-Two teenagers were shot dead in Inglewood early Saturday morning. One died later, according to the Chicago Police Department.

More than 200 children under the age of 17 were shot dead in Chicago this year, according to CPD data.

A 17-year-old child was killed and a 15-year-old child was seriously injured in a shooting at Inglewood on Saturday.

Chicago Police Department said boys aged 15 and 17 were in the backyard of the house when the shooting took place at about 1:15 am on South Peoria Street’s 6800 block.

Both teens were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where a 17-year-old child was shot in the chest and a 15-year-old child was shot in the abdomen.

According to investigators, the 17-year-old was finally declared dead.

One neighbor was talking all night.

“Our young teens need more support for mental health. They need more love. They need more guidance. Tucker Said.

No one was detained late Saturday morning, as a detective in Area 1 was investigating.
