Vasilije Micić Signs 3-Year Contract Abroad – NBC Chicago

In early June, a report surfaced that the Chicago Bulls may have been eyeing a trade for Serbian point guard Vasilije Micić.

As of July 1, take that possibility off the board.

Thursday morning, Anadolu Efes announced that Micić has signed a three-year extension with the club, splashing cold water on the notion he would make a jump to the NBA for the 2021-22 season.

Micić, 27, was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round of the 2014 NBA Draft, then traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder in December 2020. The latter is where his signing rights currently reside.

But Micić’s agent, Miško Ražnatović, made it abundantly clear as recently as June that his client wouldn’t move to the NBA without assurances of a starting role.

Micić has spent the last three seasons with Efes, but 2020-21 was his best. In 62 games across competitions, Micić led Efes to EuroLeague and Turkish Super League titles, winning EuroLeague MVP and Final Four MVP in the process.
